I live and work in Maine, a hauntingly beautiful place of dramatic seasonal shifts. For the past several years, I've been collecting colors changing in the landscape as winter turns to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall and fall to winter. The colors in this painting are inspired by autumn, red sugar maple leaves, hydrangea, dried and wilting grasses, pine bark and birch bark.
